Das Konzept eines verantwortlichen Unternehmertums bedeutet ein größeres und tragfähigeres Wirtschaftswachstum. Daher hat die Europäische Kommission ein Paket von Maßnahmen vorgelegt, um das Unternehmertum und verantwortliche Unternehmen zu unterstützen.

Speaking at the NAPF ( National Association of Pension Funds ) conference about the future of pensions, Commissioner Andor explained how the EU can best support its Member States in achieving adequate, sustainable and safe pensions for their citizens: "as part of the Europe 2020 strategy, the Commission has called for increases in pensionable ages and reductions in early retirements. This also means ensuring that such changes lead to higher effective retirement ages, which in turn brings with it lifelong learning, health and safety at work and active ageing".

Speaking at the First Annual Convention of the European Platform against Poverty, in Krakow, Poland, Commissioner László Andor called for greater efforts to fight against poverty: "We can observe an increasing share of people seeing their living standards deteriorate, especially young people, low-skilled workers and other vulnerable groups. This is not acceptable since combating poverty is both a moral duty and an economic necessity".

Die Europäische Kommission hat ein Legislativpaket für die Kohäsionspolitik im Zeitraum 2014 bis 2020 angenommen. Das Paket richtet die EU-Investitionen an der europäischen Agenda für Wachstum und Beschäftigung („Europa 2020“) aus und soll auf diese Weise in ganz Europa für mehr Wachstum und Beschäftigung sorgen.

Following the European Job Days Brussels, EU Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs and inclusion, László Andor expressed satisfaction with an impressive turnout at the leading job fair in the European Commission's Berlaymont headquarters: "The European Job Days contribute to explaining the benefits of mobility in the European Union and help people find jobs thanks to direct contact with potential employers. I am pleased to say that for many of the 10 thousand visitors and majority of over 90 participating organisations and labour market actors the event proved to be useful."
